vampire tweekers
by zWerner on Mar.27, 2009, under Uncategorized
So I just went to Pathmart and of course someone was asking me for money in the parking lot. It got me thinking. Why is it whenever there’s a half empty, dark, parking lot late at night, there’s always someone asking for money for “gas”, and by gas I’m gonna assume meth by the way these people look. I never really see anyone out of “gas” or gas asking for money during the day, where there’s more people to ask. Only at Wawa’s and dark parking lots at night. Which leads me to the conclusion they are probably vampire tweekers.

Inspiration
by aCarrington on Mar.20, 2009, under DSN 326 2009
Sometimes in designing websites or really anything you design, it helps to get a little inspiration. Try visiting other websites that is the same subject for which you are designing. Over all this really gives you a feel for what else is out there and gives you a heads up on what you need to compete against as a designer…

Summer Concert Season
by zWerner on Mar.17, 2009, under Uncategorized
In making up for lost time and since I’m a music nerd, I figured I’d talk about summer concerts incase anyone else cares. You can find just about every show in the area here. I’d suggest The Mayhem Festival, NIN and Janes Addiction(better see them while they’re still around), and The Warped Tour. Ozzfest is always a good one if it still exsists. There will probably more bigger tours announced soon, but until then…here’s your music update.
Finally a Post!

Well after half a semester of technical difficulties, I finally feel liberated I can post on here. Anyway I’m glad to see someone stole my idea. If only I was an electrical engineer instead…
Never Pay for a Ringtone Again
by sArchie on Mar.14, 2009, under DSN 326 2009
That’s right folks! You will never have to pay for a ringtone again by just visiting a cool website with a funky sounding name. It’s called…wait for it… wait for it… Pisamba.com. That’s right. Just go to www.pisamba.com and have access to the latest ringtones and even wallpaper to download to your phone. C’mon. I know I’m not the only cheap S.O.B. here. You know you want to. It takes mere seconds to create a profile thereby allowing you to download ringtones to your heart’s content. I hate to sound like I’m trying to sell you something here, but that’s not even the coolest part.
For the designer in all of us, pisamba.com will let you construct a ringtone from scratch, and all you have to do is point it to the song that’s on your computer that you want to edit into a ringtone. Or, if you really want to get your little hands on creating a ringtone but you don’t have the song to work with do not despair. Simply go to www.youtube.com and find the music video or clip where there is audio that you want to ”borrow” and just copy the URL that’s right above that little “embed” box thingy to the right of the video. Finally, click on the “Make a Ringtone” button on pisamba’s website, and paste the Youtube link where it asks for it. And, Wa-La–you got yourself a ringtone instantly to download to your phone.
Ten Second Battery Charge
by bDonnelly on Mar.13, 2009, under DSN 326 2009
“A new lithium-ion electrode allows batteries to be charged and discharged in 10 seconds flat. Developed by Gerbrand Ceder, a professor of materials science at MIT, it could be particularly useful where rapid power bursts are needed, such as for hybrid cars, but also for portable electronic devices. In testing, batteries incorporating the electrodes discharged in just 10 seconds. In comparison, the best high-power lithium-ion batteries today discharge in a minute and a half, and conventional lithium-ion batteries, such as those found in laptops, can take hours to discharge. The new high rate electrode, the researchers calculate, would allow a one-liter battery based on the material to deliver 25,000 watts, or enough power for about 20 vacuum cleaners.”
I wonder if these new batteries will die faster due to their new construction. Faster they charge, the more quickly it uses the recharge cycles, the faster it dies? Maybe, maybe not?
my database…
by hHumphrey on Mar.09, 2009, under Uncategorized
so i made my first database this weekend with all of my new found knowledge from my Web Applications Development class… Check it out!! i think its awesome… pretty basic, but cool to me since i started with nothing but a blank page
if only i could impress myself this much every day!!
http://eno.wilmu.edu/WIS-220-B1N01-SPRING2009/student1546/HHwis220/DBform.php
if at any time you look at this page and there is an error message or it look weird, its because i am currently still working on making it better.
I’d like for people to be able to search for a contact using only an initial, right now you need a whole name. also it’ll be cool when i can figure out this loop thing so i can display multiple results that match the search criteria!! i know this really has nothing to do with the flash class we are in now but thanks for looking anyways ![]()
